The materials of the 1969 Parish Hall at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church in Oak Park, Illinois, do not match the 100 year old sanctuary, is not accessible and had serious infrastructure issues.  There were basement leaks, inadequate electrical system and no air conditioning.  The more room was needed for church school, office and weekday meetings.  The Parish Hall finishes were out of date and the lighting poor.

An extensive remodeling and minor addition addressed all of these needs.  The existing Parish hall entry was demolished and a small 3 story addition added.  A new accessible entry was added on the south (left in the pictures) with elevator and stairs.  Toilets were expanded for accessibility.  A portion of the basement of the sanctuary was dug out and finished for more church school space.  A ramp was added to connect the different levels of the Sanctuary and Parish Hall.

The Parish Hall was re-newed with new finsihes and lighting.  The electrical system was brought up to code. air conditioning was added throughout, including the sanctuary.  the exterior of the Parish Hall was stuccoed to match the Sanctuary.
