CHICAGO

TCA HEALTH

2019

TCA’s flagship clinic at Chicago’s Altgeld Murray homes was built in 1996 and had not been upgraded since it opened. In that time changing needs left significant portions of the building inefficiently used or not used at all. MDT was tasked with designing improvements to clinic functionality and building systems and with giving the facility a fresh, contemporary look.

We replaced a congested reception and waiting area with a light, open space defined by an undulating tile wall. Specialty areas were given their own color-identified sub waiting spaces and care team stations. Unused and underutilized spaces were repurposed for offices, laboratory, and support functions. System updates included new rooftop HVAC and efficient contemporary lighting. New finishes were applied throughout the space and a subsequent project expanded these upgrades to TCA’s behavioral health wing.
