Project Lead at HackHaus
“Our goal going into the project was to pay homage to the past, while adding our own personal touch. We chose to highlight the raw aesthetic and architectural elements we adored, and embrace the quirks that give it character. Today, we are proud to have a space retains its rich history and is a reflection of the unique individuals that work within our walls.
Renovating our space certainly had its challenges, but MDT worked within the structural constraints of our century-old building to create a floor plan that accommodates our shifting needs and allowed for modern upgrades. Their professional insight throughout the project helped guide our design decisions and turn our creative vision into reality.”
Pat Nichols, Interim President & CEO
Community Counseling Centers of Chicago
“When I walked into our Belle Plaine Avenue offices for the first time, I felt as if the pull of that atrium ridge might counteract gravity, that I might lift through the ceiling. Helping people with mental illness and build strength in community is always weighty work. Because I joined C4 during Covid and when America’s racial reckoning was moving to the streets, it felt especially heavy.
Still, every time we, the executive staff and support services at C4, walk through the office that MDT designed for us, we feel elevated. When I walk into those two great meeting rooms, sunlight is accessible and solutions seem within reach. We are now working to move my office to the mezzanine above the main floor so that people who come to see the CEO get the full elevating effect of this gorgeous design.”
